7 SUGGESTED TO DO’S From a Successful Entrepreneur

Do you have dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur? Maybe the right idea just hasn’t come to you yet, or you’re simply too scared to take the steps that you need to take to get to where you want to be. Whatever the reasons may be, here are 7 suggestions to rocking a life and business you love:

1. HIRE PEOPLE THAT ARE GOOD AT THINGS YOU’RE NOT

You can’t be good at everything. It would be impossible, and even if it wasn’t, it would take up a lot of your time.

Hiring people to do the things that you’re not good at is something you have to do if you want to be a successful entrepreneur. Know your strengths and weaknesses and then hire to fill in the gaps - peer and above. Hiring people who are just like you sounds fun, but sometimes won’t get you what you want.

2. BE OPEN TO MAYBE IDEAS

Instead of needing to feel ‘definitely’ about your ideas, be open to your maybe ideas working out too. Let go of the need to be perfect. You should be passionate about your ideas, yes, but it’s normal to feel a little trepidation about any idea. That doesn't mean it won't work. Maybe that thought you had about network marketing is worth pursuing, or expanding your cafe into the healthy snacks market is exactly what your business needs now. Brainstorm and write down every idea no matter what, and see where they lead you.

3. BE OK WITH STARTING AGAIN

Most entrepreneurs have to start again at some point - true entrepreneurs, anyway. You can’t get too attached to any one business. This is what business owners do, not entrepreneurs, and yes there is a big difference! Be OK, be excited, be smart and seize the new possibilities having learnt from the last.

4. MAKE PEACE WITH FAILURE AND MISTAKES

You’re going to make mistakes and encounter failures as an entrepreneur, and being mentally prepared for this this is important. If you’re trying hard enough and pursuing different ideas, you’re going to learn a lot regardless of whether they work out or not. It's business baby!

5. WAKE UP WITH A PURPOSE

Never forget why you started your journey, or why you wanted to become an entrepreneur in the first place. Wake up each day with a purpose and remind yourself of what you're doing and why. Why is it important to you? What is it's purpose in the world? The world needs what you've got.

6. BE A PEOPLE PERSON

All great entrepreneurs are people smart. That is, they understand and read others, and can identity opportunities and potential hazards in people. They network. You need to get used to speaking to all different kinds of people, giving them direction, building connections, and getting ideas. Other people are key for making any idea that you have work.
“Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.”
John Maxwell

7. TAKE BABY STEPS

You don’t have to go from where you are now to becoming a successful entrepreneur tomorrow. You simply take the first steps and the next steps and the next steps that you know will help you to get to where you want to be. Taking one huge leap can sound both scary and exciting but is often not realistic. Taking baby steps consistently will have you working towards your goals every day, and soon enough, they'll feel giant.
Are you doing these 7 things to become a successful entrepreneur?
What's your next step? Leave your thoughts below.
